CAIRO - Four protest groups held a candelight vigil outside the Egyptian Cabinet headquarters against power outages in several parts of this country of 80 million people. During the protest, organised by the April 6 opposition group, protesters chanted anti-Gvernment slogans and denounced alleged plans for hereditary succession in Egypt. Egypt has suffered power cuts during this summer, which officials blamed on a surge in consumption, compounded by high temperatures. President Hosni Mubarak last week conferred with ministers of electricity and oil on the crisis.
