CAIRO (updated)-President Hosni Mubarak Saturday opened the recently renovated Islamic Museum in Cairo as part of a series of projects the Egyptian leader will open soon. Earlier in the day, Mubarak opened a new road in Giza, south of Cairo, to ease the traffic in Greater Cairo, reported the official Middle East News Agency. The Saft el-Laban Road has cost LE900 million and links Giza and Cairo to the Ring Road, added the agency. "The opening of the new road reflects the President's interest in easing the traffic in the (Egyptian) capital, saving citizens' time and boosting the trade movement," said the agency. The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and ministers of defence, housing, local development, information and transport.
