NOUAKCHOTT, Oct 8, 2018 (MENA) - Mauritanian author El Wali Ould Sidi Haiba said Egypt has succeeded despite all schemes devised against it to stand firm in the face of terror under the wise leadership of its President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Egypt, which has always enlightened the African continent, has defeated terror, terrorists and their vision of darkness, he told MENA Monday on the sidelines of a round-table discussion held at the Egyptian Cultural Center in the Mauritanian capital. "We in Mauritania support Egypt wholeheartedly and expect the 2019 Egyptian chairmanship of the African Union to make qualitative strides on the road of settling many problematic cooperation files given Egypt's advise that African leaders accept," he said. Sisi will be working hard for the sake of the continent and African leaders will welcome his efforts which will in turn positively reflect on the African development march, he said. He called on Egypt's Ministry of Culture to open the door wide to cultural exchange. "The Egyptian Cultural Center here opened in 1964, the year of Mauritania's independence. Egyptian universities have also opened their doors to Mauritanian students who until this day graduate from its faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Science and other fields," he said.
