CAIRO, Oct 6, 2018 (MENA) – The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) signed a memorandum of understanding to support supplying ships with liquefied natural gas (LNG). This occurred during the 20th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON), which is held under the theme "Fuelling Sustainable Shipping" in Singapore, SCZone said in a statement. SCZone is seeking to be a hub for ships to bunker LNG, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Mohab Mamish said. The joining of Egypt to the initiative coincides with launching a project for marine catering services to shore up the country's strategy aiming at turning Egypt into an international energy hub, Mamish added. Being among this group proves the confidence in the SCZone ports because of its strategic locations and LNG terminals, he added.
