Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 30 - 09 - 2018

CAIRO, Sept 30, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has given directives to the government to ensure the provision of the best services in all new cities that are being constructed across the country and that the pre-set timetables for works to set up these cities be observed.
The directives to the effect came during a meeting that President Sisi called on Sunday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and the executive director of Dar al-Handasa Company, Mohamed Yehia Zaki, the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The meeting was called to review the progress of works for building the housing projects at the all-Egypt level, including the new cities, with special reference in this context to the New Administrative Capital, the New Alamein City and the New Mansoura City, Spokesman Radi said in his round of the meeting.
President Sisi stressed that the world's most up-to-date building techniques should be adopted in the entire process of finishing the public utilities and services so that the new cities can bring about such an urban advancement that provides citizens with better living standards.
The presidential directives during Sunday's meeting called for action to sustain the upgrading of infrastructure for the new cities and ensure constant maintenance especially with regard to roads, bridges, traffic axes and sewage systems, in addition to the realisation of development of unsafe areas, thereby creating a quality leap in the level of public services offered to citizens.
Also discussed during the meeting was the progress of works for the upgrading of randomly-built districts and the Maspero Triangle in addition to the situation of implementing drainage and sewage projects across the country, spokesman Radi said.
During the meeting, PM Madbouli gave a presentation of the architectural designs and final plans for the building of a number of districts, residential units and commercial areas in the New Administrative Capital. He then outlines the progress of works for setting up public utilities in housing projects in various governorates.
The prime minister also highlighted the executive situation of the establishment of a central park over an area of 65 feddans in Sheikh Zayed neighbourhood of Giza governorate.
The projected park will be one of the country's largest and has been designed in accordance with the world's latest standards, PM Madbouli said in his presentation.
