CAIRO, Sept 28, 2018 (MENA) – Egyptian Minister of Health Hala Zayed on Friday discussed in a meeting with EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the medical field, especially in light of the recent support by the European bloc to the country's primary care. The talks between Zayed and Andriukaitis come as part of the high-profile UN General Assembly meeting held in New York on the prevention of non-communicable diseases. During the meeting, the health minister called on the EU official to provide the technical support for Egypt with regard to applying the health insurance system and combating the non-communicable diseases, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said in a statement. For his part, Andriukaitis expressed the EU's full readiness to offer the financial and technical backing for Egypt, the statement added.
