House speaker to meet Cypriot counterpart in Nicosia

ICOSIA, Sept 10, 2018 (MENA) - Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal will meet on Monday his Cypriot counterpart Demetris Syllouris as part of the meetings held with Cypriot officials during a four-day official visit of an Egyptian delegation to Cyprus.
Abdel Aal is also expected to meet the head of the Egyptian-Cypriot Parliament Friendship Association and the previous house speaker who played a significant role in deepening mutual relations following June 30 Revolution, said Tarek Radwan, Chairman of the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Committee in a press release on Monday.
The current visit will also witness several meetings with Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades, the ministers of foreign affairs, energy and tourism and the heads of the Cypriot parliament's committees on foreign and economic affairs, tourism and energy.
The delegation accompanying Abdel Aal includes House of Representatives' Secretary- General Ahmed Saad, Head of the parliament's Economic Affairs Committee Amr Ghallab, Head of parliament's tourism and aviation committee Sahar Talaat among other MPs.
The visit comes within the framework of bolstering bilateral relations, especially at the parliamentary level.
