CAIRO, Sept 9 , 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday asserted the importance of good planning for farmlands and banning constructions on them in a reference to transgressions that have recently spread across the country. Addressing a ceremony to mark the inauguration of the regional ring road and new bridges projects, Sisi warned against transgression on farmlands, highlighting the importance of the role of government, people, the Armed Forces as well as the ministries of interior and housing in this regard. Sisi pressed the need for appropriately compensating the owners whose land was expropriated for state projects. He ordered Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority General Kamel el Wazir to swiftly end required procedures to compensate citizens as soon as possible. He added that if farmlands near main roads were left without planning they would change into residential areas, in which case they would be hard to control. Sisi also warned against the spread of transgression on farmlands and the random urban expansion of its surroundings which will later on need sanitary drainage as well as water and electricity networks.
