President Quang has told a group of Egyptian media personnel that he was quite pleased to pay a state visit to Egypt at a time when the two countries were holding a range of significant events to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the official diplomatic relations. "Never will the Vietnamese people forget the kind assistance that the Egyptian people have given them when they fought for the national independence in the past as well as in the course of national construction and development today. We follow with keen interest the great accomplishments that the Egyptians have recently achieved and would like to offer our sincere congratulations to the Egyptian State and people. "With that, Egypt has now become one of the top three economies in Africa, enjoying ever greater role and influence in the region and the world," President Quang said during the interview. President Quang said he would discuss with President Sisi and senior Cairo government officials the directions and measures to promote cooperation and friendship between the two countries in politics, defence, security, trade, investment, agriculture, education and training, culture and tourism "In my talks with President Sisi and his senior government officials, I will discuss measures for the two sides to continue co-operating, tapping into the enormous potential and assisting each other for joint development. "A wide range of agreements are being actively prepared by our respective ministries and agencies to be signed during my visit, so as to bolster the legal framework for economic cooperation between our two countries," President Quang said. He added that there were immense prospects and potentials for co-operation across all areas between Vietnam and Egypt. "Given the determination of high-level leaders and the support and enthusiasm from every ministry, sector, locality, business and citizen of the two countries, there is every cause for the friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and Egypt to flourish and grow extensively and intensively," he said.
