CAIRO, July 10, 2018 (MENA) - Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese Tuesday visited the Egyptian embassy in the Vatican where he was welcomed by Ambassador Mahmoud Samy and members of the embassy. Pope Tawadros II was accompanied during the visit by Egyptian Ambassador in Rome Hisham Badr and Bishop for Rome and Toronto, Italy Diocese Anba Bernaba, Coptic Orthodox Church Spokesman Rev. Boulos Halim said. The pontiff began a visit to Italy on Friday to take part in a prayer day for peace in the Middle East alongside heads of churches, he said. The pope met Italian Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi and was received by Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the presidential palace in Rome on Monday, he added.
