CAIRO, July 3, 2018 (MENA) - Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform Minister Hala el Saeed opened on Tuesday activities of Egypt Government Excellence Conference 2018, the first of its kind to take place in Egypt, with the United Arab Emirates participating. This is the first step to implement a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to modernise the government work. The MoU was signed by the Egyptian Planning Ministry and the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future on the sidelines of the World Government Summit, which was held in Dubai on February 11-13. The UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future Mohammed Al Gergawi is scheduled to give a word at the conference's inaugural session. The conference will focus on four main topics; government performance, efficiency and excellence, government capabilities, smart services and government stimulus. The conference helps achieve a quantum leap in government services to translate goals of "Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030" into reality, Saeed said. Professor Mohamed Zairi, the Executive Chairman of the European Center for Best Practice Management based in Bradford city, will deliver a presentation, titled "Excellence..Concepts and International Models". This will be followed by a session on promoting the culture of excellence in the government sector, with Higher Education Minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar and Communication and Information Technology Minister Amr Talaat participating.
