Egypt dominates top PSA World Rankings

LONDON, July 2, 2018 (News Wires) - Egypt continued its dominance over the PSA Women's World Rankings as Nour El Sherbini maintained her top position.
El Sherbini has made it 26 successive months at World No.1 after topping an unchanged top 20 in the PSA Women's World Rankings.
The 22-year-old El Sherbini is already the fifth-longest serving World No.1 in history and last month capped a successful season with victory over World No.2 Raneem El Welily in the ATCO PSA Dubai World Series Finals title decider.
Nour El Tayeb completes an all-Egyptian top three, while New Zealand's Joelle King and France's Camille Serme round off the top five.
Egypt's Nouran Gohar stays at No.6, with England's Laura Massaro (No.7), Sarah-Jane Perry (No.8), Malaysia's Nicol David (No.9) and Alison Waters taking up the remainder of the spots inside the top 10.
Hong Kong's Annie Au sits at No.11 ahead of Wales' Tesni Evans, England's Victoria Lust, United States' Olivia Blatchford and Egypt's Salma Hany.
Joshna Chinappa (No.16), Donna Urquhart (17), Amanda Sobhy (No.18), Dipika Pallikal Karthik (No.19) and Hania El Hammamy complete the top 20.
Thailand's Anantana Prasertratanakul enjoyed the biggest rise in the women's rankings this month, moving up 55 places to No.199. Meanwhile, England's Lucy Beecroft also enjoyed a big increase, rising 31 places to No.112 courtesy of a first PSA World Tour final appearance at the Bangor Classic.
