Egypt's top women seeds Nour El-Sherbini and Raneem El Welily have reached Al-Ahram Squash Open quarterfinal on Monday alongside eight-time world champion and legend Nicol David of Malaysia. World number one El-Sherbini defeated former World Champion Rachael Grinham (23) 3-0 in straight games 11/7, 11/4, 11/4. El-Sherbini, 20, will play on Tuesday against the 6th seed Egyptian compatriot Omneya Abdel-Kawy, 31, who defeated Malaysia's Low Wee Wern 3-2 in round of 16. Also on Monday, World number five Raneem El Welily, 27, also reached the quarterfinals after beating India's Joshana Chinappa 3-0 (11/8, 11/2, 11/7). El Welily will face USA's Amanda Sobhy on Wednesday. Squash legend Nicol David of Malaysia, 33, also proceeded to the quartefinals after defeating England's Fiona Moverley 3-0 on Monday. Al-Ahram Open, one of the major tournaments in the squash world, rejoins the PSA World Tour calendar for the first time since 2001 with $100,000 worth of prizes for each of the men and women's events. The tournament's main draw started on Monday and will run until 23 September.
