TARRAGONA, June 29, 2018 (MENA) - The Egyptian sports mission maintained its fifth place out of 25 competing nations at the Mediterranean Games 2018, held in the Spanish City Tarragona on June 22 till July 1. Egypt players won 38 medals including 14 gold, 10 silver and 14 bronze after the end of Thursday competitions. Italy topped the competing nations with a total of 105 medals, followed by Spain which secured 84 medals, Turkey with 71 medals, France with 66 and then Egypt secured 38 medals so far. With three days remaining before the competition finishes on Sunday, Egypt can expect a fighting show as promising positions in the volleyball quarterfinals and mixed team equestrian finals could add to the scoreboard. According to the Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC), Egypt's presence in the 18th Mediterranean Games is reflected through 170 players.
