CAIRO, June 9, 2018 (MENA) - Deputy Agriculture Minister for Animal Resources, Fisheries and Poultry Mona Mehrez on Saturday paid a surprise tour to the Giza Zoo to check on measures taken ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations. Mehrez reviewed fresh services added to the zoo, including two entertaining trains and 17 dual wooden seats. Arabian oryx and Red kangaroo were added to the animals collection at the zoo, the deputy minister said. Also, several measures were taken to improve the living conditions for the animals, she added. As many as 13 ticket outlets will be opened for the public in the Eid, Mehrez said. Scouting teams of the Youth and Sports Ministry will also be deployed to help visitors, she added. The deputy minister pointed out that the Eid vacation was cancelled for all veterinarians and zoo staff.
