CAIRO, June 5, 2018 (MENA) - Egypt's Minister of Local Development Abu Bakr El Guindy met Tuesday with Australian Ambassador in Cairo Neil Hawkins to discuss boosting joint cooperation in the field of local development, as well as between the specialized training institutes in the two countries. The meeting also discussed training cadres and capacity-building, in addition to learning about the Australian expertise in decentralization, exchange of visits and twinship between the two countries. During the meeting, Guindy praised the ties and historical relations between the two countries since the opening of the Australian embassy in Cairo in March 1950. Furthermore, the meeting dealt with the prospects of the growing cooperation between the two sides and the increase in the volume of trade and investment exchange, which are expected to double in the coming years in light of the important economic reform program adopted by the Egyptian government and the newly issued investment law, as well as major development projects. Guindy pointed out to the investment opportunities in Egypt, which Australian companies can benefit from in various fields.
