CAIRO, May 18, 2018 (MENA) - The ministries of Military Production and Social Solidarity signed a cooperation protocol to establish drug addiction treatment and rehabilitation centres. Military Production Minister Mohamed Saeed el Assar along with Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali signed a protocol on cooperation between their ministries in different fields. Assar and Wali witnessed signing a cooperation protocol between the National Organisation For Military Production and the Addiction Treatment and Abuse Fund. Under the protocol, military production companies will submit the designs of the project to establish drug abuse treatment centers across the state, Assar said. He underlined the necessity of rallying efforts of executive bodies, state institutions, civil society organisations as well as all segments of the society in face of drug addiction. Fighting drug addiction is no less important than fighting terrorism and other challenges in Egypt, Assar added. Wali, for her part, pointed out to the notable increase in the number of beneficiaries from the drug abuse hotline which requires establishing more treatment centres to accommodate abusers.
