PARIS- President Hosni Mubarak Monday said it was too early to talk about resorting to the UN Security Council in order to declare the Palestinian state. He added in remarks after emerging from talks with President Nicolas Sarkozy that he hoped the current indirect talks between Palestinians and Israelis would become direct. "If these talks failed, then it would be resorted to the (UN) Security Council," said Mubarak. The Egyptian leader's meeting with Sarkozy also tackled regional peacemaking and the nascent Mediterranean Union. Mubarak had arrived in Paris on Sunday from Algiers where he offered condolences to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on his brother's death.
