CAIRO, April 29, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that Egypt is keen on establishing commercial and economic cooperation partnership with Japan. This remark came during Sisi's meeting with the Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Hiroyuki Ishige in the presence of Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil besides the Japanese ambassador here. Sisi welcomed Ishige, hailing the existing cooperation between Egypt and Japan in many fields, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady. The president further pointed out to Egypt's appreciation for Japan at the public and governmental levels in light of the Japanese expertise acclaimed for its efficiency and accuracy. For his part, Ishige referred to the depth of historic relations binding the two countries, noting that JETRO's office in Cairo which was established in 1955 is the first for the organization in the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting took up means of promoting ties between both sides and opening new aspects of cooperation in order to use the offered mechanisms and joint unique ties, Rady reiterated. The president affirmed that Egypt looks forward to establishing partnership with Japan in light of the economic developments witnessed by the country recently and efforts exerted to improve investment atmosphere. Sisi pointed out to the incentives guaranteed by the new investment law to the foreign investors, which provided investment opportunities to the Japanese firms especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and other mega ventures. Ishige reviewed the programs offered by the JETRO to enhance the efforts of the Egyptian government to increase Egyptian exports to his country, the spokesman underlined.
