CAIRO, April 24, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday laid down a wreath at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City on the occasion marking Sinai Liberation Day. Defence Minister Colonel General Sedki Sobhi and Chief of Staff Lt. General Mohamed Farid along with army commanders received the president at the site of the Memorial. The military band played the national anthem and then the president laid down the wreath. Present also at the ceremony were Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Grand Imam of Al Azhar Sheikh Ahmed Al Tayyeb along with Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and several Cabinet ministers. Meanwhile,Defence and Military Production Minister Sedki Sobhi delegated Tuesday the commanders of the field army and military zones to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to mark the same occasion. During the wreath-laying ceremony, the army commanders were accompanied by the governors and security chiefs.
