ISMAILIA, April 23, 2018 (MENA) - Giant Danish container ship "Milan Maersk" transited Monday the Suez Canal as part of the north-bound convoy. The vessel came from Malaysia en route to Morocco. An official maritime source at the Suez Canal Authority told MENA correspondent here that the ship is considered one of the biggest ones in the world, adding that its cargo reached 221,000 tons. It carried 20,000 containers on board, he noted. The vessel was escorted by a tugboat affiliated to the Suez Canal Authority during its 12-hour transit of the waterway.
