CAIRO, April 14, 2018 - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued Republican Decree No. 168/2018 for re-extending the state of emergency for three months, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Sunday. The decree stated that the decision was taken a completion of all required constitutional and legal measures, MENA added. The state of emergency took effect from 01:00 a.m on Sunday, it said, adding that the decision was approved by the parliament. The decree said that the Armed Forces and police forces would do what was necessary to confront the threats of terrorism and maintain security across the country, protect public and private property and the lives of citizens. Sunday's decree was published in The Official Gazette. In a related development, Prime Minister Sheirf Ismail issued Ministerial Decree No. 682/2018 to impose few hours curfew in some parts of Northern Sinai. Mr. Ismail said that the decree would impose of a 7:00 p.m 6:00 a.m curfew in Rafah and the surrounding areas. The decree would also impose a 1:OO am to 5:00 a.m curfew in al-Arish Town and surrounding areas.
