ALEXANDRIA--The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Centre is organising an international summer festival, titled "Nostalgia", from July 1 to August 1, with participation of seven countries including Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Sweden, Japan and Egypt. The festival features music performance representing the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s arts. The library's Orchestra also represents four concerts under the title "Old is Gold", where young Egyptian singers will sing a collection of songs for Arab and Western music icons including Fayza Ahmed, Warda, Fareed Al-Atrash. Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. Nostalgia features film screenings selected from Bibliotheca Alexandrina's list of "100 Landmarks from the History of the Egyptian Cinema". The festival will also feature the Fifth Exhibition Meeting for the three artistic exhibitions; the Alexandria International Symposium for Sculpture in Natural Material (3D Glass), the Resident Artist Exhibition, and the First Time Exhibition.
