CAIRO, April 3, 2018 - A delegation of high-ranking US police officers have praised security measures taken by the Egyptian authorities at airports as well as various tourist and archeological sites. The US delegation and their families were in a tourist visit to Egypt organised by the Administrative Control Authority in co-operation with the ministries of tourism, antiquities and civil aviation. The US tourist delegation was received by Minister of Tourism Rania el-Mashat before the end of their visit to Cairo from March 24 until April 1. During the meeting, Peter Andrea from the New York Police Department, said that the team members noticed a high level of security measures at Egyptian airports and tourist attractions. He added that those measures were not different from those which are taken in New York. In a statement released by the Ministry of Tourism, Minister el-Mashat said that relations between Egypt and the US are distinguished in all fields. She added that the US team's visit to Egypt is a message that asserts to the world the top notch security measures adopted in Egypt. Minister el-Mashat also said that the US tourist market represents three percent of the tourism flow to Egypt, adding that the Tourism Ministry is working on increasing the number of US tourists in the coming period. El-Mashat also called upon the US delegation to convey a real image about their experience in Egypt to their friends and relatives as well as urge them to visit Egypt. Tara Comiskey, Deputy Inspector for the Nassau County Police Department in New York, said that the visit was above all her expectations. She added that all members of the US delegation had enjoyed various tourist sites in Egypt. Ms Comiskey also said that the delegation was impressed by the unique Egyptian antiquities they had seen. The tour included visits to several tourist and archeological sites in Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada.
