CAIRO, March 8, 2018 - Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri on Thursday held talks with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, during which they discussed the latest developments on Arab, regional and international arenas. The Shoukri-Gargash talks came on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the League of Arab States, which started in Cairo on Wednesday. During today's meeting, Foreign Minister Shoukri praised the fraternal relations that bind Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, describing them as firm and stable, the Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ahmed Abu Zeid, said in a statement. Minister Shoukri also commended the level of coordination between the two countries on all regional issues. For his part, the UAE Minister of State stressed the close bilateral relations between the two countries and the distinguished position of Egypt in the hearts of the UAE people. Minister Gargash also affirmed his country's keenness on continuous co-ordination and consultation with Egypt on Arab issues and the best means to resolve them. During the meeting, the two ministers exchanged on all regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially the efforts being exerted to combat terrorism. Ministers Shoukri and Gargash agreed on the importance of intensifying efforts to drain the financial sources of the terrorist organisations, which pose a grave danger to the security and stability of the whole Middle East region and the rest of the world.
