Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Bahaa El-Ghannam, Executive Director of the Mostakbal Misr Agency for Sustainable Development, recently visited the East Owainat agricultural reclamation project managed by Mostakbal Misr. The visit reflects ongoing collaboration between the Ministry and the Authority, in alignment with directives from President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. During the two-day tour, the officials assessed progress and praised achievements that support Egypt's sustainable agricultural development goals. Farouk highlighted the partnership's commitment to bolstering food security through expanded agricultural land. So far, 200,000 feddans have been reclaimed, with plans to cultivate a total of 650,000 feddans along the East Owainat-Dakhla Road in the New Valley. Farouk also emphasized the continued productive coordination with Mostakbal Misr. This visit followed an earlier tour to the Sakha Seed Complex in Kafr El-Sheikh, aimed at integrating the complex with seed stations nationwide as part of a digital transformation initiative to aid farmers and strengthen food security. El-Ghannam stressed the importance of dedicated efforts to achieve the project's objectives, noting its contributions to supporting the economy, creating employment opportunities, and driving nationwide development. In related news, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly authorized the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Projects to partner with Mostakbal Misr in establishing Digital Tree, a joint-stock company focused on advancing Egypt's agricultural sector through digital transformation.
