Head of SCZone receives Japanese ambassador to discuss boosting cooperation

Walid Gamal El Din, Head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), received Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Cairo, an accompanying delegation, representatives from Toyota Tsusho Company, and the representative of the Suez Canal Car Dealership Company specialized in operating the Ro-Ro berth in East Port Said. The meeting touched on a presentation of the special preparations of the promotional tour for the head of the economic zone soon in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, to promote investment opportunities in the region and present the existing Japanese projects in Sokhna and East Port Said.
The embassy is making arrangements with the UNIDO office in Tokyo and the Japan Center for Cooperation with the Middle East JCCME, to meet with a delegation from the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and Japanese companies interested in and willing to pump investments within the region, as part of the great interest that the economic zone receives from various countries of the world. This interest has significantly grown after the remarkable development in the performance of the economic zone in the field of localization of various industrial and service sectors and the promotional activity carried out by the Authority.
The Japanese ambassador expressed his happiness with this upcoming tour. He praised the authority's capabilities, geographical location, and ease of entry of goods to foreign markets, especially from Asia to Africa and vice versa, in addition to the authority's possession of integrated industrial zones and six ports connected to the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
The meeting also touched on conducting joint working sessions with Tokyo investors and representatives of companies operating in the industries that the economic zone to localize, presenting the experience of the Japanese side represented in the Ro-Ro berth projects in East Port Said and the Saraya factory for the production of cosmetics from natural herbs in Sokhna.
It is scheduled that the head of the economic zone would visit Tokyo as part of his promotional tours to present investment opportunities to investors abroad and attract foreign investments in various industries.
