Beyti Egypt's CEO Mark Wiley stated that the Egyptian market possesses great and promising potential, making it one of the most important markets in the region.
Wiley said that the company, since the inception of its business in Egypt and over the course of nearly a quarter of a century, has succeeded in becoming one of the most important markets in the region in the field of dairy, juice, yoghurt products, cream and whipping products.
In a press conference on Sunday, Wiley noted that the company had developed an integrated plan to support and develop dairy industry in Egypt to meet needs of the market internally and external export requests, added that Beyti has directed more than EGP 5bn as direct investments in the Egyptian market since the inception of its business in 1998.
He explained that the volume of investments that the company directs exceeds EGP 220m annually, pointed out that Beyti launched 6 new production lines in 2022, at an investment cost of approximately EGP 165m, in order to meet the increasing demand for the company's products of yoghurt, juices, and Greek yogurt.
He further elaborated that the company's market share of the dairy and juice market in Egypt is 27%, disclosed, "We seek to increase this percentage in the coming years. Moreover, Beyti has invested more than EGP 10m on high-accuracy auditing and quality control systems, including more than 11 million analyzes per year. Additionally, we have developed more than 60 small and medium-sized farms, in addition to the development of 11 milk collection centers at the level of the Republic, which is consistent with the vision and efforts of the Egyptian government to develop this vital sector."
On the company's plans in 2023, Wiley said, "We aim for more cooperation with all state institutions to develop and improve milk collection centers and increase farmers productivity, in addition to continuing to support small dairy producers, and we also aim to increase yogurt production by a large percentage to meet the needs of customers."
Beyti's products are exported to 40 countries around the world, and the share of exports is about 5% of the company's total production volume. Moreover, the company aims to open more new markets in the USA and North African countries in 2023, he concluded.
