Egyptian Health Minister discusses cooperation with Qatari Businessmen Association
Minister presents investment opportunities in health sector

Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, received on Sunday evening, a delegation of the Qatari Businessmen Association, headed by Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim, to discuss investment opportunities in the health sector in Egypt.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the minister briefed the delegation on a detailed presentation on the health system in Egypt and its capabilities and material and human resources, and the map of the distribution of medical facilities affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Population, university hospitals, and civil society hospitals.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the meeting discussed ways to better direct investment opportunities to bridge the gaps, based on health maps to develop perceptions and proposals for those opportunities, the health survey of diseases in all governorates, which was carried out through public health initiatives, to find out the medical specialities that citizens need in different governorates.
He noted that the meeting discussed aspects of cooperation in a number of health projects implemented by the state in various governorates and promising investment opportunities in them, noting that the minister reviewed a number of proposed partnership models for cooperation in the investment field.
Abdel Ghaffar said that the minister noted the importance of directing and exploiting investment opportunities in the health sector in Egypt, as a result of the actual need for medical services and the number of beds, given the increase in the population, which amounts to about 104 million citizens, as well as the annual population growth rates.
He further mentioned that the meeting also discussed investment opportunities in the field of drug and vaccine production in Egypt, through cooperation with national companies in Egypt, the stages of completion and expansion and the investment opportunities presented therein.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister pointed to the expected successes of strategic partnerships in the field of biopharmaceutical production in Egypt, to cover the African market of medicines and vaccines, noting that international institutions classified Egypt as being able to become a center for the production of vaccines of all kinds in Africa.
