The US State Department and its embassy in Kiev have called on US citizens who are still in Ukraine to leave the country immediately.
The Associated Press reported that the call of the US State Department is linked to information published by the ministry about the possible escalation of hostilities.
According to a security alert on the embassy's website, "The US Embassy urges US citizens to leave Ukraine now using especially available ground transportation options if it is safe to do so.
According to the same source, the State Department has determined for Americans who are in Ukraine what they should do if they hear the sound of explosions or alerts about air strikes.
The State Department was based on the reports that were declassified by the US Secret Intelligence Services last Monday.
The renewed US warning coincides with similar warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other officials that Moscow may carry out intensified attacks, including missile strikes.
It coincides with the Independence Day of Ukraine.
Zelensky said in a video message at the weekend: "We should all be aware that this week Russia may try to do something particularly ugly, something particularly evil."
In Kiev, the city's military administration issued a ban on all large gatherings between Monday and Thursday, saying: "It is forbidden to hold mass events, peaceful meetings, rallies and other events related to a large crowd of people."
General Mykola Zhirnov, head of the Kiev Military Administration, said that the order was issued so that the security forces could respond in a timely manner to rocket and bomb threats launched by the troops of the Russian Federation on decision-making centers and military installations.
