Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi arrived in the Serbian capital Belgrade on Tuesday. He was received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. It was the first formal visit by an Egyptian leader to Serbia in nearly five decades. The two countries share a long history of strong relations since the beginning of the 20th century. The Egyptian presidency spokesperson said that the visit will witness intensive talks between Al-Sisi and Vucic. Egypt's President will also meet with Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Ivica Dacic. During those meetings, the two sides will discuss ways to strengthen political and economic relations, as well as cooperation at the international and regional levels. Al-Sisi is scheduled to deliver a speech at the University of Belgrade that tackles bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and the prospects for their maximization. The Egyptian president will also showcase the determinants of Egyptian policy towards the most important contemporary regional and international issues.
