Russia innocent of high energy, food prices, the West is responsible: Russian ambassador in Cairo

'We are ready for any Western escalation, but they will not bear the consequences," says Borisenko

Russian ambassador to Cairo, Georgy Borisenko, revealed that Russia will be able to supply 50 million tonnes of grain to world markets, where the grain harvest is expected to be abundant in the country, accusing the west of artificially dramatizing the situation with Ukrainian grain, and Russia does not impede its export
During his meeting with the African ambassadors in Cairo , he said that his country continues to supply wheat to partners in Africa and the Middle East, especially Egypt, which imports 6 million tonnes of wheat annually.
Borisenko stressed that Russia is conducting a special military operation, not a war, the purpose of which is to maintain its security, confront dangers and confront the Ukrainian Nazis.
The Russian ambassador explained that the West, especially NATO, is trying to discredit the image of Russia, stressing that the goals of the military operation are to defend the Donbass region, as the region has suffered during 8 years of aggressive military operations by Ukrainian troops.
"Russia does not want to annex Ukraine to Russia, but to preserve its independence," he said, adding that Ukraine does not mind in order to reach diplomatic and peaceful solutions.
He noted that the sanctions imposed by the Americans and Europeans in 2014 on Russia prepared Moscow for these pressures and sanctions and had alternatives to confrontation.
"The American and European politicians are trying to destroy the Russian economy and push the world towards a food crisis, stressing that the world understands this very well, "he said.
Borisenko stressed Russia's readiness to protect grain-laden ships sailing from the ports of Ukraine, and pointed out that the one who is putting obstacles is Kiev by refusing to solve the problem of mines in the Black Sea, noting that Russia is interested in UN efforts at this level.
He added that his country is ready for any escalation if NATO tries to attack it, but it will not start such a confrontation that could lead to the Third World War.
He explained that the negotiations with Kiev have stopped because Ukraine is not independent in terms of decision – making, the United States and Britain are driving the activities and decisions of the Ukrainian authorities.
As for China's position on this crisis, Borisenko said that there is a Chinese understanding of the strategic motives and reasons that prompted Russia to take this difficult decision despite Western and American pressure on it.
At the beginning of the meeting, Cameroon's ambassador to Cairo and dean of African diplomats, Mohamad labring, reviewed the effects of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis on the African continent, where wheat prices have risen by 80 percent, and wheat products have become more expensive.
He noted that the impact of the Ukrainian crisis on Africa will manifest itself in different aspects for many years, and although it is far from the geography of the war, Africa is one of the regions that will be negatively affected by this war, due to its dependence on grain.
He added that the food instability, crises, severe famines and droughts that have become more pronounced in recent days, could lead to an escalation of humanitarian crises on the continent.
For his part, Nelson Cosme, ambassador of Angola in Cairo, reviewed the impact of the flow of grain and wheat imports from Russia and Ukraine to Africa and the decline in foreign direct investment, especially the monetary sector, in which Russia is the most prominent player and contributes more than 10 percent of total investments.
He added that the state of uncertainty and the absence of a horizon to solve the crisis will affect the flow of financing which could disrupt capital flow and normal functioning of financial markets.
