Expatriate Affairs Minister, Egypt Post discuss facilitating use of postal services by Egyptian expats
Published in Daily News Egypt on 11 - 04 - 2022

Minister of Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram met with Chairperson of Egypt Post Sherif Farouk to discuss facilitating the use of Egyptian postal services by Egyptian expats.
The minister said that this meeting comes in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to combine government efforts to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad, stressing the importance and role of Egypt Post for all Egyptians.
She also praised the comprehensive development witnessed by Egypt Post in terms of form and content, the expansion of the postal network, the mechanisation of the services it provides, and the expansion of providing new types of services besides postal services to include government and financial services and parcel shipping.
Makram added that the meeting also discussed how to facilitate access for Egyptians abroad to the services provided by Egypt Post, which enables them to send their cash transfers to their families in Egypt with ease, with their relatives in Egypt receiving these transfers in an instant through Egypt Post's more than 4,200 country-wide outlets, as well as shipping their documents, drugs, etc.
The minister said that this service will benefit a large segment of Egyptians working abroad because of the advantages it will provide to them and their families, especially in Gulf countries, as these countries have a large number of Egyptians, pointing out that the postal cash transfer service — which will be implemented in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and national banks — will meet the demands of the segment of citizens that wants to send transfers in a safe way to their families in villages.
For his part, Farouk praised the efforts of the minister to care and provide for the needs of Egyptians abroad, noting that Egypt Post has become the government's arm in providing services to citizens and providing its services to Egyptians abroad in most countries of the world, especially the Gulf.
He also expressed his full readiness to work to provide all the services that Egyptians need abroad, including the transfer of documents, drugs, as well as cash transfers, noting that Egypt Post always seeks to raise the level of performance of all its services using the highest international means of technology with the aim of making a qualitative leap in the level of services provided to citizens in accordance with international standards.
Farouk also explained that Egypt Post has agreed with EgyptAir to allocate its own spaces for shipping, as it is possible that everything Egyptians need abroad can be transported and shipped, revealing that Egypt Post has signed many agreements, including with Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan.
