Heads of Arab Councils and Parliaments expressed their appreciation for Egypt's role in achieving Arab national security under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that the president met with the heads of Arab parliaments on Sunday and stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary communication between Arab countries to achieve Arab unity and solidarity.
Furthermore, Al-Sisi affirmed that holding the fourth Conference of Arab Parliaments and Heads of Arab Councils, which is titled 'The Role of Parliamentarians in Achieving Security and Stability in the Arab World', embodies the great national responsibility of Arab parliamentarians to serve the interests of their peoples.
Egypt's Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy Al-Gebaly affirmed that the president's sponsorship of the conference is a great honour, especially in light of the important role played by Arab parliaments in embodying the will of their peoples.
He also asserted the Arab Parliament's significant contribution to addressing Arab issues, especially in the field of enhancing cooperation to combat extremist ideology and terrorism, through research and legislation.
Moreover, Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Al-Assoumi pointed out the Arab Parliament's keenness to strengthen joint Arab action and crystallising a unified parliamentary vision to confront the current challenges facing the Arab nation.
Al-Assoumi also hailed Egypt's efforts in promoting Arab action and achieving Arab national security in addition to the unlimited support provided by Egypt for hosting the Arab Parliament in Cairo and facilitating its work.
Rady added that the meeting witnessed an open dialogue with the president in which the attendees expressed their appreciation for Egypt's pioneering contribution to consolidating Arab relations and cooperation and preserving Arab national security.
The Arab Parliament concluded its meeting on Saturday at the Arab League's headquarters in Cairo, in which Arab parliamentarians approved a document titled "A Parliamentary Vision to Achieving Security and Stability and Advancing the Current Arab Reality."
