26.2% increase in Egypt-Jordan trade exchange in 1H2021: CAPMAS
Egyptian exports to Jordan amounted to $348m in 1H2021

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAMPAS) revealed on Tuesday an increase in the value of trade exchange between Egypt and Jordan, recording $430.8m during the first half (1H) of 2021, compared to $341.3m during the same period in 2020, an increase of 26.2%.
According to the agency, the value of Egyptian exports to Jordan amounted to $348m during 1H2021, compared to $274.3m during the same period in 2020, an increase of 26.9%, while the value of Egyptian imports from Jordan recorded $82.8m versus $66.9m, with an increase of 23.7%.
CAPMAS pointed out that the value of remittances from Egyptians working in Jordan amounted to $678.5m during fiscal year (FY) 2019/20, compared to $654.2m during FY 2018/19, an increase of 3.7%, while the remittances of Jordanians working in Egypt amounted to $11.1m, compared to $17.7m with a decrease of 37.5%.
The value of Jordanian investments in Egypt amounted to $41m in 1H of 2020/21, compared to $7m during the same period in FY 2019/20, an increase of 485.7%.
The population of Egypt recorded 102.5 million people in 2021, while the population of Jordan recorded 10.3 million people in 2021, and the number of Egyptians residing in Jordan, according to the mission's estimates, reached 920,000 Egyptians until the end of 2020, while the number of Egyptians in Jordan, according to those registered with the mission, reached 11,500 Egyptian.
