Immigration Minister asserts Egypt's keenness on achieving human rights

Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Nabila Makram asserted Egypt's keenness on achieving human rights, explaining that President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi's launch of the National Human Rights Strategy confirms Egypt's efforts to building a new Egyptian personality and providing citizens with a decent life.
Makram's remarks came during her meeting with the Sudanese delegation of National Commission for Human Rights, headed by Rifaat Mirghani Abbas El-Amin, along with a delegation from the National Council for Human Rights in Egypt.
During the meeting, the Minister of Immigration The minister added that the political leadership is keen to achieve Egyptian human rights, in order to provide safe alternatives to illegal immigration.
Makram reviewed what the Egyptian state offers to Egyptians abroad, and ways of cooperation with Sudan in the field of immigration and expatriates abroad, praising the Sudanese state's management of this file.
The Minister of Immigration stressed that Egypt is keen on human rights from a historical and cultural standpoint, because our well-established traditions make this a top concern for the Egyptian state, which is keen on building people.
She added that the presidential initiative "Boats of Life" aims to raise awareness of the dangers of illegal immigration, and the great national project "A decent life" tries to meet the needs of the most needy villages in the governorates exporting illegal immigration.
The minister stressed that Egypt has made great efforts in the field of legal protection for migrants and the criminalization of human trafficking, in addition to the academic dimension and the involvement of experts from the relevant professors to identify the causes of the phenomenon and treat the causes of unsafe migration.
El-Amin explained that the Egyptian experience is important to study and apply, in particular coordination between various actors, and praised the Egyptian efforts in the field of promoting human rights, and the launch of the National Human Rights Strategy, which is a pioneering step in the Arab and regional environment.
Al-Amin added that Egypt has succeeded in overcoming many of illegal immigration causes, and that this visit of the delegation comes to exchange experiences and benefit from the results achieved in the field of human rights and dealing with the migration file.
