Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has issued a decree appointing Sharif Farouk as Chairperson of the National Post Authority for one year.
Farouk's top priorities include continuing to develop the authority as a major provider of government services as part of Egypt's digital building project and developing logistic and postal services.

During his long career, Farouk has taken part in developing banking services for individuals, as well as overseeing management of branch networks and credit risk management. This has been in addition to managing corporate loans and overseeing business development, and management and employee training.
Farouk has been First Vice Chairperson, CEO and Managing Director of Nasser Social Bank since March 2017, during which he was able to lead the bank's change, development and restructuring.
He haw previously worked with the Egyptian Gulf Bank (EG Bank) in Cairo, the National Bank for Development – Cairo which has since become the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, and at the Egyptian American Bank – Cairo (Credit Agricole).
