8 Egyptians qualify for Windy City Open squash championship quarter-finals

Eight Egyptian squash players qualified for the Windy City Open squash championship quarter-finals hosted by Chicago, the United States, from 27 February to 5 March.
The prize money for the championship awards is estimated at about $250,000 for men and women, and will be the second platinum championship in 2020, after the GB Morgan Championship.
The Egyptians' results in Round 3 came as follows:
Nour El Sherbini defeated Australian Donna Lobban 3-1 (5-11, 11-4, 11-5, and 11-8).
Hania Al-Hamami lost to French Camille Serme 2-3 (11-7, 10-12, 7-11, 14-12, and 11-9).
Yathreb Adel lost to English Sarah-Jane Perry 2-3 (7-11, 11-7, 5-11, 11-5, and 11-9).
Karim Abdel Gawad defeated French Mathieu Castagnet 3-0 (11-8, 11-6, and 11-8).
Rowan Elaraby defeated English Lucy Turmel 3-0 (11-7, 11-7, and 11-1).
Tarek Momen defeated Spanish Iker Pajares Bernabeu 3-1 (11-5, 11-4, 9-11, and 11-5).
Nouran Gohar defeated Belgium's Nele Gilis 3-0 (11-3, 11-3, and 11-6).
Ali Farag defeated his fellow citizen Omar Mosaad 3-0 (13-11, 11-5, and 11-6).
Raneem El Welily defeated her fellow citizen Salma Hany 3-0 (11-6, 11-3, and 11-6).
Spanish Borja Golan defeated Youssef Soliman 3-1 (8-11, 11-9, 11-4, and 11-9).
American Olivia Blatchford Clyne defeated Nadine Shahin 3-2 (8-11, 11-6, 11-3, 9-11, and 11-9).
Mohamed ElShorbagy qualified directly as his fellow citizen Zahid Salem withdrew due to injury.
Since the start of the current season last September, Egypt has dominated major world titles, as Mohamed ElShorbagy and Nour El Tayeb were crowned champions of the China Squash Open. ElShorbagy and Raneem El Welily also won the Oracle NetSuite Squash Open. Ali Farag won the U.S. Open Squash, and Karim Abdel Gawad won the CIB Egyptian Squash Open.
Moreover, Nour El Sherbini won the CIB PSA Women's World Championship for the second time in a row and the fourth in her legacy. Abdel Gawad also won the Men's Edinburgh Sports Club Open held in Scotland in February.
Last December, Egypt have retained the WSF Men's World Team Squash Championship title in the USA, fulfilling their top seeding by beating second seeds England in the final at Squash on Fire in Washington DC.
