Fifth edition of the Egy Home Tex expo to launch 20 February
13% annual compound growth for the textile sector

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Egy Home Tex exhibition will be launched Thursday in its fifth edition from 20 to 23 February at the Cairo International Conference Centre in Nasr City.
In this context, Wael El-Kady, Deputy Chairperson of Vision, which organises the exhibition, said that Egy Home Tex brings together experts interested in the home textiles and upholstery, as well as traders and furniture stores in Egypt, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Gulf.
Projections indicate that the textile sector used in the home textile industry in Egypt will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13% over the next five years, while the Textile Sector Strategy for 2020 in Egypt aims to maintain export CAGR of 15% to raise the value of exports from the current level of $6.2bn to $10bn.
The display areas include many sectors of the home textile industry such as towels, bathroom accessories, curtains, fabrics, textile crafts products, textile arts, bed covers, linens, embroidery, textile decorations, woven fabrics, threads, home textiles, bedspreads, carpets, furniture fabrics, and kitchen accessories from textiles and accessories.
It is noteworthy that the Export Council for Spinning, Textiles, Garments, and Home Furniture has announced that it will receive a buyers' mission that includes 12 countries on the side-lines of the fifth edition of the Egy Home Tex Expo , which are Iraq, Algeria, Jordan, England, UAE, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Kuwait, Kenya, Greece, and America.
It is expected that there will be a programme to conclude bilateral meetings with Egyptian companies, in addition to organising field visits to Egyptian factories in order to increase Egyptian exports to various promising markets.
