President of the German Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), Eric Schweitzer, said that the German business community is very impressed by the business development in Egypt last year.
During the BITS & BYTES EVENT organised by the German Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GACIC) last week, Schweitzer noted that Egypt is Germany's business economic partner and its logistics' hub to Africa.
"German businesses are technological specialists and I think it will benefit the Egyptian market with its long experience in technologies," he added. "The German and Egyptian economies are quite dependent on international trade and businesses climate, however, Egypt's economy is quite normal."
For his part, Cyrill Nunn, the new German ambassador to Egypt, said that Egypt is Germany's future partner in Africa.
The ambassador expressed his fondness of Egyptian business development, noting "The Egyptian government has very determined efforts in developing and completing economic reform programmes to achieve its desired development plan."
Accordingly, the German embassy is helping solve problems related to economic issues in Egypt, and is very keen on attracting business opportunities to the country by increasing the flow of German companies in the local market, Nunn pointed out.
Furthermore, Nunn added that Egypt and Germany have a long-standing friendship in many fields, and Germany stands as a strong partner, pointing out, “I am happy to cooperate with our Egyptian partners and to get acquainted with this wonderful country and its people.”
