Israel strikes Hamas observation points after Gaza launched explosive balloons
No injuries occurred from strikes, Israel stated it has difficulty in dealing with ‘Gaza Balloons'
Published in Daily News Egypt on 03 - 03 - 2019

Israeli aircrafts struck two Hamas observation points inside the Gaza strip on Saturday night, in response for the balloons which were attached to an explosive device and sent to Israel from Hamas.
The strikes targeted Al-Qassam's Brigades observation posts in east of El-Bourij in central Gaza strip, and east of Rafah, however, no injuries occurred.
The strikes occurred after a "cluster of balloons carrying an explosive device was launched from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory," the Israeli army said in a statement, adding that there were no damages or injuries occurred.
Palestinians have been launching balloons attached to explosive devices toward south Israel for months. The Hebrew site, Walla, said on Sunday morning, that they have difficulty in dealing with the Gaza balloons, claiming that Hamas has developed this mechanism.
Gaza has witnessed several airstrikes all over the year, and also saw thousands of protesters, on a weekly basis, trying to pass through the fence in what was known as the ‘Great March of Return', and about 251 Palestinians have been killed since March 2018 by Israeli fire.
Israel struck Gaza on Wednesday, and the Israeli army stated on Thursday that Israeli aircraft targeted several militant sites in Gaza after an explosive balloon launched to Israel led to the damage of a house in the Jewish state.
