41 Vietnamese firms' representatives, eight Egyptian ministers agree on boosting cooperation
Nasr exposed Egypt's megaprojects opportunities including SCZone, New Administrative Capital

A joint Egyptian-Vietnamese economic forum's meeting in the presence of eight Egyptian ministers and 41 Vietnamese firms' representatives was held at the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation' (MIIC) headquarters, on Monday, where both sides agreed on boosting bilateral cooperation, especially, in the fields of textiles, tourism, agriculture, oil and gas drilling equipment, communications, and small and medium enterprises.
Sahar Nasr, MIIC' minister along with the Vietnam's Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Chí Dũng, co-inaugurated the meeting , in the presence of Vietnam's minister of trade and industry, Tran Tuan Anh, Egypt's Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashaat, minister of agriculture and land reclamation, Ezz El-Din Abo Steet, Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar, Health Minister Hala Zaid, chairperson of the Suez Canal Authority and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), Mohab Mamish in addition to other Egyptian officials.
During the meeting, Nasr affirmed the importance of bilateral relations' and its successful model for the unique economic relations, especially, after the first-ever Egyptian president's visit of Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to Vietnam in September 2017.
Nasr expressed her hope for further boosting cooperation with Vietnam following exchanging visions on increasing joint investments, reaffirming Egypt's economic reforms aiming at boosting economic growth and improving the business climate.
She also exposed Egypt's megaprojects' opportunities including the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the New Administrative Capital, pointing out Egypt's investment advantages as a gate to African markets.
Additionally, other Egyptian ministers discussed possibilities of joint cooperation by sectors with Vietnamese businesspersons and ministers.
On Monday, President Al-Sisi received his visiting Vietnamese counterpart Trần Đại Quang at the Ittihadiya Palace for talks on bilateral cooperation. The meeting focused on efforts to increase trade and investment exchange. The two leaders also witnessed the inking of a number of memorandums of understanding between their countries in the fields of trade, industry, and investment. Egypt and Vietnam are marking 55 years of diplomatic relations, according to Egypt' State Information Service.
