$13.4bn, volume of trade exchange between Egypt, EU in H1 of 2018: Nassar
UK is largest investor in Egypt with investments says Minister of Trade

Minister of Trade and Industry, Amr Nassar, revealed in a press statement, that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the European Union (EU) reached $13.4bn in the first six months of 2018.
The minister noted that the volume of the trade exchange volume between the EU and Egypt, reached $26.02bn in 2017.
According to Nassar, the most important items of trade exchange between Egypt and the EU include furniture, medical industries, leather products, agricultural crops, engineering and electronic goods, food industry, yarns, textiles, books, artistic works, ready-made garments, chemical products, fertilisers, building materials and handicrafts.
Nassar stressed the importance of enhancing joint investment cooperation between Egypt and the EU, with the aim of exporting to regional and global markets.
In that context, the minister assured that Egypt has promising investment opportunities in various industrial and agricultural fields, pointing out that Egypt is considered as an important trading hub for the Middle East and Africa's markets.
In terms of the EU`s investments in Egypt, the minister declared that the volume of EU`s
investments in the Egyptian market amounted to $15.1bn.
He continued that the United Kingdom is the largest investor in Egypt with investments of $5.3bn, representing 35% of the value of the European investments in Egypt, followed by the Netherlands with investments of € 2.5bn, then Italy with investments worth €1.48bn, and then France with €1.3bn.
