Mo Salah wins race for EPL Golden Boot with 32 goals
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 05 - 2018

Liverpool's winger Mohamed Salah made history in the Premier League after scoring his 32nd goal in the competition, against Brighton on Sunday, surpassing Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luis Suarez, who share the record of 31 goals in a 38-game season.
Salah secured the Premier League Golden Boot for the 2017/2018 season after Tottenham Hotspur's star Harry Kane stopped at the 30-goal mark.
He was also named the Premier League Player of the Season, adding to his major achievements throughout this campaign.
The Egyptian international player has been on fire this season, presenting his best career performance in the English Premier League. He won the PFA Player of the Year and Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year awards.
Salah also won the EA Sports Premier League Player of the month award for April. It is the third time this season that the Egyptian winger gained that trophy after winning it last November and February.
The Egyptian also became the first African to breach the 30-goal mark in a single campaign, and the only man to win three EA Sports Player of the Month awards in the same season.
The 25-year-old forward joined Liverpool in a club-record £36.9m transfer deal from AS Roma last June. Salah's market value has almost doubled over the past six months, reaching £66.4m, according to the CIES Football Observatory.
The Egyptian now has 44 goals across all competitions this season, falling short of Ian Rush's record return of 47—in 65 games—set in 1983/84.
