Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr has discussed with the Jordanian Minister of Trade and Industry, Yarub Qudah, the possibility of establishing a union for brokerage companies working in the Egyptian-Jordanian field of securities to be based in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
The two sides have also discussed encouraging dual registration of companies already registered in the stock exchange in order to represent the legislation controlling Arab capital markets as well as to consider establishing an Egyptian-Jordanian shareholding company to produce and manufacture LED lamps.
The two parties looked into enhancing cooperation between both countries in the field of entrepreneurship, as well as putting forward the 19 recommendations of the Egyptian Jordanian Business Council based on the capabilities of Egypt and Jordan.
They have also discussed the possibility of establishing a permanent exhibition for outstanding Egyptian and Jordanian products that are considered a high quality in both countries, in addition to taking part in the specialised joint exhibitions held in the two countries on a regular basis, according to a report issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Investment.
The discussion was on the sidelines of the meetings of the Egyptian Jordanian Joint Commission. The two sides have also discussed arranging the signing of agreements and memorandums of understanding to be signed on Thursday in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Al-Mulki, as both sides head the supreme joint committee of the two countries.
