Published in Daily News Egypt on 11 - 05 - 2017

Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil said that the Industrial Training Council, affiliated with the ministry, is preparing for a 15-person trade delegation to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Germany in cooperation with the Export Council for Handicrafts and as part of the "I'm an Entrepreneur" project.
This statement by the minister was made during his meeting with the entrepreneurs who who recently received training and are set to travel to the UAE, in addition to the entrepreneurs whose projects were sponsored by the Egyptian-German project to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and who are supposed to travel to Berlin in July.
The meeting was attended by Sherin El Sabbagh, head of development policies and projects at the ministry, and Mahmoud El Sherbeny, executive director of the Industrial Training Council.
The minister said that the delegation is to receive practical training to complement the theoretical training provided to these entrepreneurs to help them find export opportunities as well as to learn the basics of management and developing their financial resources. He noted that the council is currently coordinating with the trade representative bureau in the UAE to prepare for bilateral meetings and field visits. Several meetings with governmental and economic agencies interested in dealing with these entrepreneurs will also take place.
The minister noted that it is important to find a brand for the products of these young people as well as market their products electronically to increase their sales.
The minister noted that the ministry is currently developing 18 business incubators in several governorates to help these projects so they can establish companies, noting that coordination is taking place with all ministries and agencies that support incubators in order to unify their efforts and focus on supporting projects with high priority.
The minister noted that another delegation will be travelling to Germany in July through an Egyptian German project to develop SMEs. The project will be part of the cooperation with the German "GIZ" development agency, which offers support to Egyptian entrepreneurs to allow them to take part in the international conference for entrepreneurship which is held annually in Berlin.
The conference will allow participants to develop a network with entrepreneurs and investors from around the world in cooperation with Rise Up, the largest platform to connect entrepreneurs in Egypt and the Middle East.
