Banque du Caire succeeded in opening 5,200 new accounts during its participation in the Financial Inclusion Week, according to Mohamed Mashhour, vice chairperson of the bank.
Mashhour stressed that Banque du Caire has spared no effort in supporting the initiative of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to enhance financial inclusion. The campaign has been promoted in all branches of the bank throughout the country.
He added that the bank's employees have also been present in more than 75 external locations: in universities, clubs, youth centres, shopping centres, and other areas to cover the campaign in all governorates of the republic. They also offered banking services to attract a new segment of customers, he added.
The bank has launched 20 PR trucks roaming governorates, villages, and remote areas, to promote the campaign to spread a culture of financial awareness and increase the base of customers dealing with the banking sector, as well as to open accounts that are free of administrative expenses to customers, according to Mashhour.
He added that, during Financial Inclusion Week, the bank was keen to reach all segments of society, where the opening of bank accounts will includes the elderly, residents of remote areas, and people with special needs, while also educating them on how to deal with banks.
The bank was targeting those over 16 years to introduce them to the idea of financial inclusion and educate them on the importance of saving their money in banks.
