CAIRO: Alexandria Mineral Oils Co (AMOC) reported net profit of LE 509.2 million ($88.4 million) for the nine months to March 31, a rise of 28 percent on the same period a year earlier. The oil products company, in which the government sold a 20 percent stake last September, reported its results in a statement published on the Cairo bourse s Web site. Net profit a year ago was LE 397.3 million. In April, the company said public sector shareholders planned to sell shares worth half the firm s capital. Bidders for the 43,050,000 shares on offer would also be committed to purchasing all shares offered for sale by private sector shareholders. By end of trade on Wednesday, AMOC shares had fallen LE 2.4, or 3.1 percent, to LE 75.25. Reuters
