The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is about to contract with Molinari-Bect Consortium for consultancy works to implement its metro carriage storage yard project. According to a NAT official, the technical committee recommended assigning advisory works to the Molinari-Bect Consortium for Engineering Consultancies to oversee of their carriages storage yard under the project name KOZZIKA. The official said that the technical committee accepted the offer from the French company Thales, after the latter passed evaluations for the limited tender with a technical evaluation ratio at 90.78%. The agreement states that the French company is to provide toll equipment, such as ticket machines, along the metro's third line. NAT assigned advisory works to Strata Construction Consulting to oversee the implementation of phase three for the metro's third line. The financial offer's total value, provided by Strata Construction Consulting, is roughly EGP 576m. NAT has contracted with an Egyptian-Japanese alliance to be a supervising consultant on the implementation of the first phase of the metro's fourth line (Alharam line). The winning alliance consists of five companies: Nippon Koei, Nippon Civic, Oriental Consultants, ACE, and EHAF. The contract was signed for EGP 976m. The authority is planning to establish six new lines to be completed by 2032, aiming to link Greater Cairo with its surrounding areas. The construction of the fourth line began in January. The metro currently serves 4 million passengers daily through its two main lines, Helwan-Al-Marg and Al-Moneib-Shubra, with a third line that links Attaba Square and Heliopolis.
