I would never insult Al-Qaeyi, says Al-Hadari

CAIRO: Sion keeper Essam Al-Hadari said that he didn t mean to insult Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi, following his recent controversial statements.
The Egypt goalie said in a phone call with Al-Hayat TV that no one can prevent him from featuring for the Pharaohs except for head coach Hassan Shehata.
The veteran goalkeeper was responding to comments from Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi, who had cast doubts on Al-Hadari s international prospects.
I deeply admire Ahly and Adli Al-Qaeyi, and I didn t mean to insult anyone, the 36-year-old said on his official website.
He [Al-Qaeyi] is like an elder brother to me, and I would never disrespect him.
It was an emotional moment, and for that I apologize. I m just keen to retain my spot in the Egyptian national team.
Al-Hadari, who played a pivotal role in helping Egypt win back-to-back Nations Cup titles, has been at loggerheads with Ahly s officials and fans since joining Sion without the consent of the Cairo club.
The Red Devils took the matter to CAS in order to claim compensation, saying that Al-Hadari violated his contract with them.
Al-Qaeyi is convinced the talented keeper might be handed a suspension and other breach-of-contract sanctions in the near future.
